How do I know if my gutters should be repaired or replaced?
Isolated problems such as a loose section, leaking joint or damaged downspout may be repairable when the rest of the gutter system is in good condition. Replacement may make more sense when gutters are pulling away from the home, repeatedly leaking, improperly pitched, undersized, extensively damaged or no longer moving water effectively. We evaluate the condition of the entire system before recommending repair or replacement.
Why does We Roof Indy typically install 6-inch gutters?
Six-inch gutters provide greater water capacity than smaller traditional residential gutters and work well with many of today's larger and more complex roof designs. They provide additional capacity for heavy rainfall and areas where valleys or multiple roof planes concentrate water into a gutter run. We primarily install 6-inch systems for residential gutter replacement.
How many downspouts does my home need?
There isn't one correct number for every home. Downspout requirements depend on roof area, gutter-run length, roof design, valleys, outlet capacity and where water can safely discharge around the property. Proper placement is just as important as the number of downspouts.
Are gutter guards worth installing?
Gutter guards can be worthwhile for homes that regularly collect leaves, seed pods and other debris. They can reduce routine gutter cleaning and help keep debris out of the gutter and downspout system. No gutter protection system is completely maintenance-free, so the right choice depends on the home, surrounding trees and the type of debris the property receives.
Can gutter guards be installed on my existing gutters?
In many cases, yes. If the existing gutters are properly installed, in good condition and compatible with the gutter protection system, guards may be added without replacing the gutters. If the existing system has drainage, pitch, capacity or condition problems, those issues should be addressed before adding gutter protection.
Do you install copper, half-round and commercial gutter systems?
Yes. In addition to 6-inch seamless aluminum residential gutters, We Roof Indy can install copper and half-round gutter systems for homes and projects where the architecture calls for a specialty system. We can also handle commercial and larger-capacity gutter applications where the building and roof drainage requirements call for a different gutter profile, size or downspout configuration.
